Arriving by plane
Fly to Gdansk airport and take a bus or taxi from there (see information below).
Arriving by train
The Sopot train station building has been demolished and a huge new complex is being constructed at the moment. In the meantime temporary ticket offices have been set up at the junction of Marynarzy and Kościuszki street. There are two platforms one serving the local SKM train and the other the national network, both of which have been beautifully renovated to their pre-war appearance. The local service uses Platform 1 while if you are arriving from out of town you will be deposited on platform no. 2. The conference venue as well as beach, pier, cafes and restaurants are all within a 10-15 minute walk and the nearest tourist information office is at the entrance to the pier at Pl. Zdrojowy 2.
Arriving by bus
Sopot does not have its own international bus station so you will either be dis-embarking in Gdynia or Gdańsk bus stations. The bus stations are located near the railway stations from where you can take the SKM train to Sopot.
Public transport system
In the “Tri-City” of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia there is an extensive public transport network, consisting of trains, trams and buses, and of course taxis. The local train network is called SKM. It is the most convenient form of transport around Tri-City. In addition, ZTM Gdansk provides bus and tram transport in the city. SKM tickets can be purchased at every stop from the ticket machines or at the ticket office. ZTM tickets, valid for both buses and trams, can be purchased at newsagents and kiosks. There are also ticket machines at some bus and tram stops. It is also possible to buy a ticket from the bus/tram driver, but these tickets are a bit more expensive.
